Java Developer (Rwanda)

Jembi Health Systems (Jembi) is an NGO and sees itself as an exciting social enterprise working in the field of Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) particularly focused in the field of health systems. We have active and ongoing projects in South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Rwanda. In addition to these countries we do focus our energies to the larger African context as well as providing support to our partners in other low resource settings such as Cambodia, India and the Philippines.

Jembi is one of the leading entities working in the field of Health Enterprise Architecture (EA) in low resource settings. Our role is in designing and implementing these solutions. Jembi works mostly with open source software but does not exclude the use of proprietary applications when the use case requires it. In addition to our work in EA we often work with some of our partners in offering technical development support and mentoring as well as developing custom implementations of solutions to meet their needs.

We are currently looking for Mid-level/Skilled Java Developers to join our Rwandan Team team, based in Kigali, and get involved in the work we are doing in the in the development and implementation of the Enterprise Architecture for Rwanda. Jembi believes in the right people and in addition to that we see the need for the following in our candidates:

- 1 to 2 years Java work experience (J2EE)
- Understanding and experience with technologies such as Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat, Web Services, JSP, SQL
- Experience with Linux, Windows
- Experience in the use of Ticketing Systems (JIRA)
- University Degree in IT (BSc Comp Sci or similar)
