Jembi Health Systems NPC, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our cutting edge agile development team in Durban to work on a number of projects, with a focus on health systems such as an EMR (Electronic Medical Record), interoperability and data exchange between these systems.

The successfull candidate will work with a team of developers on one or many of these projects. They should have a minimum of 5 years experience working with Java (or C#) and modern JavaScript technologies in production enterprise environments.

Required skills & experience
  • Solid understanding of web technologies and protocols
  • Experience as a senior software engineer, with the ability to mentor a development team
  • Excellent coding skills and understanding of software design patterns and architecture
  • Experience as a Senior Developer in a major programming language (Java, or C#)
  • Front End development experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and relevant web platforms and libraries (such as AngularJS and Spring MVC)
  • Server-side JavaScript development with Node.JS
  • Use of Agile development practices
  • Expertise in relational and document database development
  • Ability to take ownership of the software deliverables and work unsupervised by other senior developers
  • Responsibility for risk management of the overall software product
  • Mentorship of other software engineers
