Health Information Systems in support of Strategic Information Activities in the Republic of Mozambique

Executive Summary

Through a sub-agreement with University of California, San Francisco, Jembi was awarded the health information systems in support of strategic information activities in the Republic of Mozambique project. At MOASIS (Mozambique Open/Architecture, Standards and Information Systems) UCSF will support a long term trainee in the area of strategic information systems to contribute to the work plan, as well as provide the mechanism for building expertise in Mozambique in the area of strategic information systems.

The Grant has generated and supports the following projects:


Mozambique (MOASIS) | Information system for management of medicines and medical supplies (SI-MAM)

A health information system that was developed by John Snow Inc. (JSI) to assist MISAU in the supply-chain management of medicines and medical supplies from central warehouses to hospitals and clinics in Mozambique.

Mozambique (MOASIS) | New National HIS for Monitoring and Evaluation (SIS-MA)

Jembi-MOASIS has the role of managing the international tender for selection of the company developing the new national system for monitoring and evaluation.

Mozambique (MOASIS) | Maintenance of current national and evaluation system (Modulo Basico)

The main aim of the Modulo Basico project is to execute any necessary emergency maintenance and corrections from the current review of health information systems in the official application.
