Mothers2Mothers (m2m) is an international organization which has developed and implements the proven and scalable ‘Mentor Mother Model’, a widely supported, evidence-based peer intervention model in six countries. Centered in communities and clinics, m2m employs and trains mothers living with HIV to work alongside doctors and nurses, bringing critical information and support to pregnant women and new mothers.
Jembi Health Systems was contracted by mothers2mothers to assess their electronic systems and make recommendations to move to a system that was under m2m control and could be extended and expanded by m2m when necessary.
Jembi was then engaged to implement DHIS2 for the m2m aggregate data platform, and to assist with data migration and implementation of the new system. As part of this phase (phase 1) Jembi set up data elements, disaggregations, forms, applications for site management and training management, and implemented all functionality of InSite. Subsequent to that, new stationary was developed and Jembi added new forms to DHIS2. The second phase (Phase 2) was envisaged to focus on patient level data, but due to changes in requirements and scope in Phase 1, some work from Phase 1 will spill over into the contract for Phase 2.
