Supporting National Health Digital framework

Executive Summary

The Tuberculosis (TB) team of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) has spent several years working with the South African National Department of Health (NDoH) to strengthen the National TB Control Program. Based on this work, the TB team has prioritized the development of effective data systems for TB-related healthcare delivery and policy setting. As innovation and technology solutions for healthcare become increasingly prevalent, the systems with which they operate in tandem are becoming more important. As such, BMGF is focusing on helping the government of South Africa to develop systems and processes that capture necessary data, with a focus on the use of technology. The goal is for routine data to be used for the development of policy and strengthening South African Tuberculosis and HIV programs. Jembi is a subcontractor to Vital Wave Consulting which is the primary recipient of this grant.
