Jembi Health Systems Signs Cooperation Agreements for the Health Sector with the Province of Inhambane

Jembi/UEM-Moasis formalizes its partnership with the Provincial Health Directorate of Inhambane in the realm of health information systems development, implementation, training and support with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Performance Agreement (action plan).

Maputo, October 2017 – The MoU and Performance Agreement with the Inhambane Provincial Health Directorate formalize Jembi/UEM-Moasis direct support to the province in areas including but not limited to: 1) Full support for all official HIS systems (SIS-MA, SIS-ROH, SISH, SIS-HR, and others); 2) IT technician dedicated to the province and districts; 3) Senior staff for M&E, installations, trainings, maintenance and support; 4) Resources for visits to the districts and the hospitals; 5) Manuals and training materials; 6) Training in mortality certification and cause of death, CID-10 and other HIS related field; 7) SIS-COMPACT STATION and support to the hardware and software best practice for maintenance; 8) Support for data extraction, quality control and use; 9) Support for the preparation of reports and M&E tools and training in HIS.

The direct support provided at the provincial level by Jembi/UEM-Moasis has been ongoing for the past 3 years and it has led to concrete results such as the improvement of data quality, quantity and use as well as better capacity to monitor and evaluate programs and national data analysis reports. All aforementioned results are documented through M&E reports as well as reporting from the MoH M&E system.

Jembi/UEM-Moasis currently has an MOU with the Ministry of Health at the central level and 4 provinces (Gaza, Maputo Provincia, Maputo City and Inhambane). The MoH has requested for the extension of this model in all other provinces.
