Health Informatics Training and Research Advancement Center (HITRAC) was setup in 2011 as a center of excellence in strengthening health informatics needs in Zimbabwe. It is an organization affiliated to the Health Informatics Unit within the Center of Public Health Interventions (CEPHI) in the Department of Community Medicine, University of Zimbabwe.
- To develop and support Health Informatics Training Programmes in Zimbabwe’s Medical Training Programmes
- To develop and implement appropriate software based solutions to the country and the region’s health delivery system.
- To carry out research in key areas of informatics and their appropriateness to the practice of health in the Region. Key areas include: bioinformatics, medical informatics, telemedicine and public health informatics.
