Executive Summary

The Rwanda programme aims to improve healthcare services and health systems through the development and implementation of appropriate, custom-made health information systems (HIS) to address the needs of the Rwandan Ministry of Health. The Rwanda programme has mainly been focused on the Rwanda Health Enterprise Architecture project (RHEA).  RHEA develops enterprise architectural-based national HIS, and the local human resources capacity in health information technologies and data management.

Projects

Rwanda Health Information Exchange (RHIE)

The RHEA project comprises of an international project team and is funded by the IDRC, Rockefeller Foundation, PEPFAR and the HIPPP initiative. The international project team has designed an enterprise architecture based solution at country level, and seeks to further strengthen eHealth and health information systems within Rwanda.

Mutuelle Membership Management System

The Ministry of Health of Rwanda have embarked on a program to ensure all Rwandans have access to affordable healthcare through health insurance schemes including the community based health insurance scheme or “Mutuelle de Santé”.

Implementation Science Project

Jembi provides technical assistance support to the University of Rwanda for the Implementation Science Project with the School of Public Health to evaluate the clinical impact and cost of eHealth in Rwanda using innovative frameworks and local capacity development.

Rwanda Health Systems Strengthening Project

Jembi has been awarded a sub-contract under the Rwandan Health Systems Strengthening Activity (RHSSA) Project to provide technical assistance across eight work-packages over the five-year period from November 2014 to September 2019.

Jembi has been awarded a CDC Prime Award in Rwanda to support the Project titled “Implementing an Electronic Monitoring and Reporting System in the Republic of Rwanda under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
