Study on Regulatory Aspect on eHealth (EHSA)

Executive Summary

In June 2012, the European Space Agency  appointed a consortium to implement a study on regulatory aspects for eHealth, including telemedicine and satellite services, in 48 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

The overriding goal of the proposed Study on Regulatory Aspects is to contribute directly to better performance, quality of care and the long-term sustainability of health systems and eHealth in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) by supporting the implementation of satellite-enhanced telemedicine and eHealth services. The study will develop and validate comprehensive, sophisticated, yet flexible regulatory models to support the required institutional structures, processes and decision taking in the wide diversity of SSA countries.
