Interoperability

Bridging healthcare systems for holistic solutions.

At Jembi, we focus on facilitating seamless information exchange across various healthcare platforms and stakeholders.

Interoperability is not just a technical term; it's a mission at Jembi. We aim to bridge healthcare systems for comprehensive solutions, focusing on smooth information exchange across different platforms and stakeholders. Our work goes beyond just linking systems; we strive to build an efficient and patient-centered healthcare ecosystem.

Pioneering Projects

One of our flagship projects is the Open Health Information Mediator (OpenHIM) Platform, developed in partnership with the Patrick J McGovern Foundation. This platform is not just a technological marvel; it's a scalable and secure solution for large-scale interoperability in digital health, implemented in Ethiopia and more than ten other countries.

Technological Innovation

Our contributions to the Open Integrated Health Platform (OpenIHP) signify our commitment to technological innovation. Developed by the Western Cape Provincial Health Data Centre, OpenIHP focuses on making patient health information actionable for healthcare providers. It's part of a broader suite of tools that work in tandem to offer comprehensive healthcare solutions.

Key Impacts

  1. Our work has had a global reach, with the implementation of OpenHIM in more than ten countries in Africa and around the world.

  2. We've also played a pivotal role in establishing the Interoperability Assessment Framework, a cornerstone for healthcare systems in low and middle-income countries.
