Jembi Mozambique Senior Implementer, Martins Miranda, led the train the trainer session for the interoperability between e-SiRCEV and MGDH-Birth

To support the interoperability initiative between the Ministry of Health's (MOH) Hospital Data Management Module for Birth Registration (MGDH-Birth) and the Ministry of Justice's (MJCR) Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (e-SiRCEV), Jembi Mozambique and Saudigitus launched a comprehensive Training of Trainers (ToT) program.

Training of Trainers (ToT) Overview:

In April 2024, in Maxixe District, Inhambane Province, jembi.org and Saudigitus trained 10 technicians from the MJCR and MOH. These trainees were equipped with the necessary skills and tools to lead the on-ground pilot process. The primary goal of the ToT was to empower central-level MJCR and MOH teams with the knowledge to use the interoperability solution between MGDH-Birth and e-SiRCEV.

Project Highlights:

  • Funding and Support: This project, funded by the Data For Health Initiative supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies and Vital Strategies, marks a significant advancement in data exchange and operational efficiency within the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System.

  • Timely and Actionable Data: The integration aims to generate timely, actionable data, reduce rework and waiting times in civil registration services, and improve data security while minimizing the risk of document falsification.

By enhancing the interoperability of these systems, this initiative is poised to improve the efficiency and reliability of birth registration processes, ensuring better service delivery to citizens and more robust data for national statistics.
