Jembi Impact Report 2025/26: From connected data to practical action

Health information becomes useful when clinicians and public health teams can act on it.

Our latest impact report illustrates how we worked with government, research and technical partners to connect data, strengthen local capability, and test new applications of artificial intelligence (AI). These priorities guided our work through a year of significant change.

As several major funding programmes concluded, we supported planned system handovers and built new partnerships to advance work across South Africa, Ethiopia and Mozambique.

Highlights from this year's report:

Connecting over 60 health facilities in Addis Ababa. A Health Information Exchange and Central Data Repository application launched, consolidating HIV treatment data and reports for health managers.

Testing an AI clinical scribe in four Western Cape facilities. Clinicians evaluated a prototype and outlined needs for trust, consent, and integration with patient records to lessen documentation burdens while maintaining clinician control.

Creating two open-source climate-health platforms in Ethiopia. Collaborating with the University of Gondar and local partners, teams assessed tools using a decade of household and health data to investigate climate-sensitive health risks.

Promoting local ownership in Mozambique. Health systems transitioned to the Ministry of Health and C-Saúde, ensuring knowledge transfer for ongoing use.

Thank you to the government teams, clinicians, research partners and funders who made this work possible. The report shares the project milestones and lessons shaping our next phase.
