Key Visit and Discussion

On November 1, 2023, a significant meeting occurred at Jembi's office in Maputo, Mozambique, marking a continuation of a longstanding partnership.

Erin Sizemore, the newly appointed Team Lead of the Health Information Systems (HIS) team at CDC Mozambique, visited alongside Ryan Keating, Branch Chief of Health Information Systems and Monitoring & Evaluation, and Madona Raja, HIS Specialist.

This courtesy meeting was aimed at introducing Jembi Mozambique's team and its extensive portfolio to the new CDC leadership.

A Decade of Collaboration

Since 2010, Jembi has been a principal HIS partner for the CDC in Mozambique. Prof. Chris Seebregts, CEO of Jembi, joined the meeting virtually to discuss Jembi's enduring cooperation with the CDC, not just in Mozambique but across several African countries. This interaction underscored the depth and breadth of the relationship between Jembi and the CDC.

Showcasing Achievements and Future Goals

Marina Chichava, Head of Operations at Jembi Mozambique, highlighted the key projects that have yielded significant results in recent years. These projects are at the core of strengthening Mozambique's national health system. They encompass a range of initiatives, from enhancing ICT and health information systems to improving statistical data for decision-making.

Furthermore, the focus on interoperability between systems and the establishment of national frameworks ensures sustainability and local ownership of these projects by Mozambican professionals.

Implications for the Future

This meeting was more than a formal introduction; it represented a reaffirmation of Jembi's commitment to enhancing health information systems in Mozambique. It also set the stage for future collaborations aimed at advancing healthcare outcomes in the region, leveraging technology, and empowering local professionals.
